Distractions – Distractions! What are your weapons of mass-distraction? With all the demands on our time, we’re always trying to manage our time more effectively and efficiently. At any given time, most of us look like an Olympic level juggler. I fondly refer to that as trying to stuff 50 pounds into a 5 pound bag. Sound familiar? This week’s video is more of a life-saving Public Service Announcement about our endless distractions atop two proven human limitations that governments around the world have spent billions trying to remove. Psychologists suggest combining distractions with these limitations are literally killing us. It brings a whole new meaning to work smarter not harder! https://youtu.be/bOlUlOF8I3g
In this Friday from the field week’s video, Jamie Utt discusses a recent “snack dilemma” with her son and it reminded her how much it relates to being a physician liaison. If you have kids or know any, you know how seriously they take their snacks. Take a look as Jamie humorously reminds us to never stop looking at our role from the office staff and provider’s perspective. Often times, when an office calls us we aren’t able to answer. If we take too long to return the call, they may get antsy because in their mind, we had ONE job…THEM! ONE MORE THING - don’t forget next week is FACEBOOK LIVE for our next Friday from the Field! Who doesn’t like a successful before and after story? In this week’s Friday from the Field, Corina Rose, Physician Liaison with Presbyterian Healthcare System shares her “before and after” experience with Tiller-Hewitt’s Physician Liaison and Strategic Sales Program. Corina shares her “before” story of going into the field as a physician liaison without training, strategic guidance or data to direct efforts and track success. Corina then speaks to her “after” experience with the Tiller-Hewitt program and how it was a game-changer in gaining tools, resources, support and a much more strategic understanding of her role to become a successful physician liaison. If this story sounds familiar and you’re ready for a before and after experience, read what our clients have to say and call us today! https://youtu.be/7gRamdQ6t2o
You’ve probably seen someone out and thought “hey, I know them” - right before the shock set in that you can’t remember their name. Awkward! In this week’s Friday from the Field, Jamie Utt discusses the value of our business cards. I know we’re all legends – but be a humble legend by remembering that our offices see so many people every day that we cannot expect them to instantaneously remember us or our organization – even if they do a good job faking it! That’s why Jamie reminds us to always be fast and generous with our business cards. At Tiller-Hewitt, our rule of thumb is that unless the person shouts your name, before you have time to give them your card, HAND IT OVER! This prevents awkward moments and guarantees their focus is on your message and not on trying to remember your name and organization! https://youtu.be/7T9cx8VVSqA
Building the “Dream Team” – Why physician liaisons and population health managers should work firstname.lastname@example.org 2019-12-31T17:40:18+00:00
You’ve probably heard the terms population health, at risk and value-based care, but do you really know what they mean to you and your role? In this week’s Friday from the Field, I am speaking with Kim Vu, a population health manager and she provides us with key definitions we should understand. Build your dream team to include the population health team – this is how you will continue to stay relevant. If you aren’t familiar with your organization’s population health strategies, what are you waiting for? https://youtu.be/HS6ori0JLk0
Have you heard the saying, “It’s not who you know, but WHO KNOWS YOU”? Have you looked around lately - both inside and outside the organization - to gauge how well you’re known for the value you bring? Our value comes by the knowledge, can-do positive attitude and results we consistently bring to the game.As a Physician Liaison, if the only place we spend time is inside the organization and the provider offices – it is very difficult to earn the coveted status of trusted advisers! In fact, that leads to breathing your own exhaust. So how do we stay on top of trailblazing and innovative ideas, upcoming regulatory changes and over shifts in our ever-changing industry? By getting involved in higher-level professional associations. We're talking about associations made up of executives and other influences in your world. In this week’s Friday from the Field, two liaisons Erica Niemeyer and Veronica Brand both attended the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Chapter meeting on Diversity in Healthcare and Aligning Ethical Principles. It was so informative! Veronica participated on the Diversity in Healthcare panel – bringing in the work of [...]
