In this week's Friday From the Field video Tammy Tiller-Hewitt comes to you fresh off a flight to the west coast. On the way to her hotel, she stopped by the health system corporate headquarters to check out the meeting room and test the equipment where she would be conducting a training program the next day. Even though sometimes she gets push back from organizations to schedule the room ahead of time, too bad – so sad, it’s part of her pre-flight “plan”. Research shows that 10 minutes of planning can save 2 hours of wasted time! What’s your preflight plan? Check this out…

Mark your calendars for September 6th to hear first-hand experience from the dream team at Dayton Children’s Hospital! We are so proud of two Tiller-Hewitt trained ladies from Dayton Children's Hospital. Deb Scheetz and Nancy Herin recently presented “Making the Marriage Work” discussing the working relationship between marketing and liaisons to help drive ROI for their organization at the 2019 National AAPL conference in Salt Lake City. Using a recent neurology campaign as their case-study, the “TwoSum” give you details on how their departments successfully work with each other, hospital specialists and leadership. Nancy also described her role as an Employed Provider Liaison or “internal” liaison at Dayton Children’s to support key physician relations areas including: onboarding of new providers, retention and leakage mitigation. Since the national presentation, there has been an outpouring of questions from attendees. We hear you loud and clear … you want to know MORE! As a follow-up, AAPL is hosting a free webinar with Nancy, Deb and Kim Grant, their Tiller-Hewitt Regional Manager on Friday, September 6th at Noon. The three will present "Making the Marriage Work" and give you an open mic for a LIVE [...]
When is the last time you “scrubbed up” - I mean wearing scrubs in your role as a superstar Physician Liaison? In this week’s Friday from the Field, superstar Beverley Fox-Bray puts herself back in training, shadowing in the operating room so she stays on-her-game when promoting their new surgical robot. As successful liaisons, we never “fake it ‘til we make it”. We spend countless hours mastering the details of our organizations and the services offered. Additionally, we should spend time educating and updating ourselves on our competitors too, in order to consistently identify competitive advantages, or in some cases, create talking points around why we don’t have the latest and greatest technology.
Last week we came to you LIVE from an onboarding program lean event with a large multispecialty provider group. It was just before over 100 providers, managers and leaders reconvened to look at the action plan they created after a multi-day mapping process of their entire onboarding process. Their goal is to ensure they’re working together effectively to provide a seamless and even enjoyable experience for their new providers and families. This week Kim Grant shares some of the ‘AHA” moments; the top 3 themes, the coveted check-list, and next steps in the process to get to the point where new providers become their organizations BEST recruiters! Fill out the form below and we'll help you take your onboarding to the gold standard level.

Don’t give up! While proper preparation is essential to success, we must use that preparation to then consistently and persistently drive our outreach efforts. It may be the tenth visit when the provider finally realizes he/she needs you and the value you deliver. Effective persistence eventually leads to the coveted trusted advisor status. In this week’s Friday from the Field video, Regional Manager Kim Grant explains the value of persistence. Kim reminds us that being in the field is where the magic happens; bringing back market intelligence is where leader ignition happens. She shares a great example to support her message. If persistence is one of your challenges, we can help. Give us a call or fill out the form below.
The Tiller-Hewitt team just returned from a fantastic conference hosted by the American Association of Physician Liaisons at the Gaylord National Resort in Maryland. As we interacted with hundreds of liaisons from around the country (and hopefully YOU), it remained clear that our roles as liaisons are vital for success and continued growth of the practices, hospitals and healthcare organizations we represent. With that said, it never ceases to amaze us how many liaisons we encounter that have not been given the tools necessary to succeed, often simply because their organizations aren't aware of what it takes to make a program successful. As you know, simply having a liaison calling on providers is not enough in today's competitive markets, we must do much more! In this week’s Friday From the Video (below), our COO Tommy Tiller shares three principles that every best practice outreach program should be built around. Systems, Data and People. Successful physician outreach programs - that’s our core business. We specialize in launching new outreach programs as well as assessing existing programs. Having served hundreds of practices, hospitals and health systems [...]

Our COO – Thomas “Tommy” Tiller II - is currently launching a multi-hospital/multi-liaison outreach program for a large health system. In doing so, he again is reminded of the most common obstacle liaisons face while trying to get and stay out in the field working with providers and their staff. Tommy draws an interesting parallel between a similar obstacle providers must overcome day after day in their own practices to become and stay successful. In this week’s Friday from the Field video, Tommy discusses the specifics of this obstacle and offers suggestions to overcome. For you competitive superstar liaisons – let’s see if you’ll accept Tommy’s two-week challenge. After watching the video, we’d love to hear your findings on how you plan to increase the amount of face-to-face time with your providers. One last note…as Tommy mentions, it’s not too late to register for our Make-it-Matter Liaison Training Workshop on May 3-4 in St. Louis. We would love for you to join us!
