How’s your time management? Do you find yourself with too many things on your list with not enough time to accomplish them? How about any procrastinators out there? In this week’s Friday From the Field Video, Nancy Herin, Liaison from Dayton Children’s Hospital references “Eat that Frog”. What on earth is she talking about? After being a liaison for four years Nancy was part of an on-site Make it Matter Workshop with Tiller-Hewitt. One of her biggest take-aways - that she still uses years later – was from the Make Time Matter module of the workshop. During this module, we dive into time management (eating frogs) and how YOU can manage your time better while maximizing the limited face time you get with providers. During these fun and intense workshops, we cover seven in-depth modules that are invaluable to EVERY liaison, brand-new and seasoned alike. Our next public Make it Matter Physician Liaison workshop is coming up in less than 3 weeks in St. Louis, October 8th-10th. There’s still time to register! *Note – the price increases October 1st and groups of three or more from the [...]
So, have you been a liaison in the field for a while and you think “Geez, I have literally run out of stuff to talk about”? If so, you are not alone! Everyone goes through this from time to time. Never fear, we’re bringing you four tips to help you get back in the game. (The detailed video is at the bottom of this page.) Make something up! :-) – not like lying but create something that will get some buzz going. Create a quarterly newsletter that includes new providers, spotlights on hospital departments, upcoming events and even a joke or a cartoon that they always look forward to seeing. It’s a little work on the front end but it’s a guaranteed way to have something of value that you can hand deliver each time you go into the offices. Everyone loves it – the front desk staff, referral coordinators, office managers and providers. Dive into data – You’ve heard us say it time and time again – “Let the data tell you a story” You will always find something worth investigating. Then go [...]

Register for our 3-day Physician Liaison Training Workshop by the end of day Monday, September 9th to save $250 off the standard registration fee. Only a few days left – register now! We hope you’re planning your trip to our 3-day liaison training workshop coming up soon in October. We have heard that some of you WANT…NEED…ARE DESPERATE to attend, but are looking for a way to convey the benefits to your boss for approval. We’ve got you covered! Our team has put together a letter/email template for your CEO or boss that provides information about the expertise of the Tiller-Hewitt team and the seven modules that will be covered during the workshop. There is a place to include a specific challenge you hope to overcome (that may resonate with them) and the value of networking with other physician liaisons. Last you can include all the expenses in a cost estimator. This allows all the information you need for approval all on one page. In this week’s video, Jamie Utt, former physician liaison, talks about attending the training and how it helped kick start her role and how you can download the letter template to get you one step closer to St. Louis. Hope to see you soon!
Wow - what a great conference this year in Salt Lake City hosted by the American Association of Physician Liaisons (AAPL)! Many of our Tiller-Hewitt superstar liaisons were on the podium sharing success stories around going from liaison to leader, the marriage between marketing and outreach, and 10 questions new liaisons should ask. I was so proud to hear each of them share their success! This week's Friday From the Field video talks about the question I - and our liaisons - get asked over and over again each year at the conference. Tiller-Hewitt has been in the business of building physician liaison programs for 18 years. We offer services, training and tools that have built successful liaison programs for hundreds of hospitals, health systems and physician organizations across the country. One of those is our 3-day live, interactive Liaison Training Workshop coming up October 8th-12th in St. Louis. I'll personally take you through seven modules that will set you up for long-term success. Give me a call, I'd love to discuss the AAPL conference, our 3-day workshop or other ways that we can help you grow your [...]
Next week is the American Association of Physician Liaisons' Annual Conference in Salt Lake City. Tammy Tiller-Hewitt will be joined by several Tiller-Hewitt trained super star liaisons and liaisons turned executives as they share exciting topics with the attendees. In this week’s video, Mary Barber is going to give you Five Tips to Make the Most of the Conference. For more details about our speaking events at the AAPL conference and other locations, take a look at our upcoming events. AND...don’t forget to stop by the Tiller-Hewitt booth and say “Hi!”. 😊
In this week’s Friday from the Field video, Tammy Tiller-Hewitt is talking with Michael Joseph, a new liaison from her home state of Illinois. When asked about his biggest challenge, Michael gave a familiar scenario of trying to change long-term established referral patterns. His facility has grown so fast that many primary care providers are unaware of all the new specialties that are offered in-house. Watch and hear ideas Michael has to overcome his challenge.
Data-data-data - garbage in-garbage out! This week we continue our Liaison insights and challenges mini-series with Donyel Edwards, a liaison for a large medical group in the lovely state of North Carolina. Take a look as Donyel shares her biggest challenge as a liaison. What obstacles do you face as a liaison? Contact us to discuss and brainstorm ways your organization can tackle obstacles that are holding you back. Team work makes the dream work!
Tammy Tiller-Hewitt recently helped produce a Women’s Conference and one of the speakers said something that really resonated with her. She said, “I was sleep-walking through life.” BAM – mic drop! As someone whose dream is to lead millions to discover what they’re made for – their WHY, hearing that was a major AH-HA moment for Tammy. It’s a great description of why many of us are missing our real purpose as we go through the motions of life. The thing about motion is it doesn’t have one speed or even speed limits. Maybe for some of us we’re sleep-running, even sprinting through life. What about you? Meet Tammy in Salt Lake City for the 2019 AAPL Conference where she'll share “Discovering Your WHY” and why you were made for so much more!
Happy Friday! We are thrilled about the feedback from last week's Friday From the Field video. Wow - you guys love hearing from other liaisons! :-) In this week's video Tammy Tiller-Hewitt is talking with Raul Campos, from the beautiful city of Chicago, about the strategic growth, use of data and internal collaboration challenges we face as liaisons. We discuss his challenges and how his organization has "stopped the bus" to make sure they were driving in the right direction. Check it out! In the upcoming week's, we’ll share more videos of Workshop Insights, including other liaisons challenges. Next week we'll hear from a practice manager turned liaison. She has the inside scoop! Stay tuned.
